Nature on the wane.
This phrase has a few meanings, the coming of winter when plants wind down, go to sleep, regenerate for spring. And the phrase has a bigger meaning — the negative impact of human touch on our planet. I do worry that we, people, all of us, everywhere on the planet are not being told everything we need to hear about the health of the planet, air, water, trees, grasslands. Nor are we being honest and forthcoming, real, about what behaviors we have to change ,who has to do it and the cost of the change vs the cost if we do not change. It’s not political. It just is.
Nature on the wane is the name of my art exhibit this month of October in Kew Gardens, NY. I am thrilled to show my paintings and drawings of plants, and the places they exist. The work in the exhibit is a reminder that being in Nature with trees and plants provides beneficial impact for body and mind. Humans are wired to be one with Nature. She takes care of us. Let’s take care of Her.
